What Do I Bring to the Eldership Role?
I have experience as High school teacher (1976 – 84); Baptist Youth Director for Southern Africa (1985 - 87); Howick Baptist Church: Associate Pastor (1988 – 91), Senior Pastor (1992 - 2003); founded Creation Films (2004); MD Creation Films (2004 – 09, 2014); Executive Pastor – Mount Albert Baptist (2009 – 2013); co-founded EzyStream (2014); Executive Director CRC Media (2015 2016). Currently working as Senior Flight Instructor and Operations Manager for Flight Club; serving as Chair of Elders and member of Building Project team, I am good at helping organisations align strategically with their vision and mission; leadership; change- management; systems integration; teaching and training.
My Hope for GSB
For GSBC to be a balanced ‘Word’ and ‘Spirit’ church; to operate in the power of the Holy Spirit and exercise all the spiritual gifts; to become so irresistibly attractive that outsiders might ask, ‘why’; to remain true to the biblical mandate to every local congregation to ‘make disciples’; to stay ‘anchored to the Rock, but geared to the times'. To help GSBC to become a strong, sustainable church that reaches the community for Jesus, by establishing processes and systems that support a healthy church.
